Women are 6 times more likely to be victims of elder sexual abuse.

Within the transgender and SOFFA (Significant Others, Friends, Family and Allies) community, 74% experienced more than one incidence of sexual violence according to a national survey on sexual violence. Abuse/assault occurred most when survivors were between 0 and 12 years of age and then again between 19 and 21 years old.

1 in 10 elderly persons suffer abuse, including sexual abuse, within a one-year period. Among those aged 60 and over, the lifetime prevalence of sexual assault is 7%.
