Program information — information you share when accessing VBA services, including intake forms and program participation records
Donation information — payment details processed through our third-party payment providers (Zeffy, PayPal)

We use the information we collect to:

Provide trauma-informed services and program support
Respond to your inquiries and support requests
Process donations and issue tax receipts
Send newsletters and program updates (only if you have opted in)
Improve our website and programs through aggregated analytics
Comply with our legal obligations as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
03

How We Share Information

VBA does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We never have and never will.

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers — trusted vendors (email, payment processing) who assist us in operating our organization, under strict confidentiality agreements
With your explicit consent — for example, survivor stories shared publicly through our podcast or speaking bureau, only with your written authorization
Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or as mandated reporters under California law
04

Survivor Confidentiality

"Your story is yours. We will never share it without your explicit consent."

The VBA Promise

Survivor privacy is a core organizational value at VBA, not merely a legal obligation. Specifically:

All client information is kept strictly confidential within the VBA team
No survivor information is shared with family, employers, law enforcement, or any third party without written consent
Consent is required at every step of your engagement with VBA
You may request deletion of your records at any time by contacting us

Mandatory Reporting: As a licensed clinical organization, VBA clinicians are mandated reporters under California law. This means we are legally required to report imminent risk of harm to self or others, and suspected child abuse. We will always inform you before making any such report.

05

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. We recommend using a private/incognito window if you are concerned about your browsing history being visible to others.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

08

Children's Privacy

VBA provides therapeutic programs for children ages 10–17, but our website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. All minors participating in VBA programs require caregiver involvement and consent.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without consent, please contact us immediately at info@voicesbeyondassault.org.
